Anyone that has spent the day with Carl knows that he is a super picky eater. We introduced him to all sorts of foods early on that I made from scratch (all except pureed meat, I could never get the texture right). So when he started to eat table foods, it became very frustrating when he refused everything. I read countless articles on how to get your child to eat a variety of healthy and nutritious foods, and yet none of their suggestions have helped Carl become an adventurous eater (actually, I’d settle for an average eater).

One of our favorite items when going out to eat at Mexican Restaurants (and Cheesecake Factory) are sweet corn cakes. Carl absolutely loves this decadent side dish. I have been trying for a few years to find a recipe to recreate it at home and I finally found one that works with adjustments from Allrecipes.com. I am amazed at how close the flavor and texture is to our nearby Mexican Restaurants (especially Don Pablo's).

We are really blessed in our house to have the space for a playroom. It’s a first floor master bedroom with a bathroom and small walk-in closet. Since we wanted to be on the same floor as Carl, we opted to stay upstairs. The only problem with our playroom is it is completely bare (except for the
billions tons of toys). I’ve got nothing on the walls and none
of the furniture matches. Since I was bed rested half-way through my pregnancy,
I told Kris I wanted to hold off on decorating the playroom until I could help.
Of course, here we are 19 months later, and nothing has changed (oops!)
So now I have started the fun of looking up playroom ideas. I am in constant awe of the creativity of my fellow bloggers. They have come up with the greatest ideas that I am not even sure I am skilled enough to recreate (thankfully my parents are though, just kidding Mom :)).
So today I am sharing with you 20 playroom ideas that have inspired me. The best part is, these ideas can be used in kid’s rooms and classrooms, too!

I don’t know about you, but when it comes time to make food for someone in need, I always end up making the same thing: baked ziti. I just made a batch for my neighbors who were moving (so they could focus on the packing rather than cooking). I decided the next time I make someone a meal, I am going to try something new. I went straight to Pinterest and Allrecipes.com (my favorite recipe site), to find some new recipes to try. I figured I should test them on my
victims husband and Carl before I make someone sick.

I love Nurseries and little kids rooms - I think they are so much fun to decorate. I find myself looking at and pinning ideas for our nonexistent other children (we're nowhere near ready to change Carl's room).
About a year ago, my Mom asked me to create some prints for her friend who was designing an adorable nursery in gray, lime green, turquoise and orange. The color combination was so much fun to play with (which is why you'll see various versions of the same prints). They own Yorkies so I decided to add a personal touch by creating prints with a Yorkie silhouette.
In addition to the colorful prints, I also created a Red Sox Print using Skip Hop's Owl from Treetop Friends. Even though we're die-hard Orioles fans, I set aside our differences to create some adorable Red Sox Owls for her nursery.Continue reading to see the adorable prints.

I despise stinky Sippy cups. Carl started to use a Sippy cup for water at about 8 months. Cleaning the cup just took some soap and water. But then, we introduced milk. Dirty Sippy cups soon became my enemy. I couldn't believe the smell milk created while in a Sippy cup. I told my husband that we were going to have to buy new cups all of the time if I couldn't get the smell out (which he of course lovingly nodded yes to even though he didn't have a clue what I was talking about).
I knew the cups were clean and safe for Carl to drink out of, but I couldn't get over the sour smell left behind. Like every 21st Century Mom, I headed over to Pinterest to search for cleaning ideas. I was surprised when I didn't find a ton of information. Most of the suggestions involved baking soda, which just didn't work for us.
So finally, after trying multiple ideas, I came upon a simple solution that works every. single. time. It even worked on the Sippy cup we left in the car overnight earlier this summer. I thought for sure we were going to have to toss the cup (Elmo has become like a 5th family member to Carl, so this wouldn't have gone over well). So today I am sharing with you, the ever-so-glamorous, simple and effective way to clean stinky Sippy cups.

I am so excited today to be sharing this giveaway from Livi's Loops. I am so jealous of the cute accessories my sister and friends get to buy for their girls. These are no exception.
Annemarie of Livi's Loops started out making bows for her daughter, Aliviana, after she left teaching second grade to became a stay-at-home-Mom. She loved hair bows but couldn't find many cute ones. Annemarie and her friends would have bow making play dates and swap materials. Her friends started asking to buy her bows and encouraged her to start a business. She held her first bow sale on Zulily in September 2012. Soon after, she she started to sell her bows at craft fairs while selling online at Zulily, Amazon, and Keekoo. Her inventory has expanded to include bows, headbands, clippies, bow boards, and bow hangers! Just like many stay-at-home Moms she spends naptimes and late nights hand-crafting her bows. Annemarie was blessed with a second beautiful daughter, Emmalyn, in August 2013. Now she has fun putting her daughters in matching bows. Seriously, could they be any cuter?
